Company History

    Chung Shing Textile Marketing Co., Ltd. is affiliated with Chung Shing Textile Co., Ltd. and was established in October 2006. Accordingly, its development history is presented beginning with the founding of Chung Shing Textile.

1949-1960

1949

The Founder of "Chung Shing" —Mr. C. Y. Baw started his enterprise with only two sets of knitting machine. At that time, invested capital was merely NT$40,000 and the company employed just 40 people mainly producing handstitched undergarments under the brand name "Three Gun" —the same brand name we use today.

1956

On October 30, the Company was officially registered as “Chung Shing Cotton Weaving Co., Ltd.”(中興棉織廠股份有限公司), with its capital increased to NTD 2 million and its workforce expanded to over 100 employees.

1969

Officially changed the company name to “Chung Shing Textile Co., Ltd.”

1973

The trade mark "Ylshur" was registered for our new kinds of underwear. In the same year, the company stock went public and were trade in market.

1980

We acquired the Ta shing Chemical Fiber Co. which enabled us to become self-sufficient in synthetic fiber.

1985

Shing Lai Department Store was purchased and named Chung Shing Department Store in Chinese and using "Sunrise" in English as before.
Implemented a divisional organizational structure, established profit centers, adopted Management by Objectives (MBO), and strengthened production control functions.

1988

The founder of "Chung Shing" ─ Mr. C. Y. Baw retired. His wife I. S. Chou succeeded him as the Chairlady of the Board of Directors.

1989

The Founder of "Chung Shing" ─ Mr. C. Y. Baw passed away on Sept. 25, 1989. Celebration our 40th Anniversary with the memory of Mr. C. Y. Baw.

1990

In June, we obtained the License agreement from the American B.V.D. Licensing Corp. for using the name brand "B.V.D." solely in Taiwan.
In October, Dr. GAVRIIL H. POPOV, Major of Moscow, U.S.S.R. and his deputy and the interpreter visited Taipei via our invitation, brought up the so called "Soviet fever" in Taiwan.

1991

Chung Shing is the first public owned company legally operating its garments manufacturing in mainland China with both governments' permit.
Chung Shing also obtained the approval for building a garment plant in Vietnam.
In May, Mr. Gilbert T. C. Bao, son of Mr. C. Y. Baw, replaced Mr. S. W. Mou as vice chairman of the Board of Directors.
In December, we opened a Three Gun Hypermarket in San Chung, Taipei county, as parts of our efforts to diversify our business.

1992

In April, the Overseas Investment Department was established.

1993

In May, Chinese Mainland Investment Division and Vietnam Investment Division were formed after reorganization.

1994

Our Yangmei Chemical Fiber factory and our affiliate Printed Wire Corp. both received the significant honors of being accredited by the Bureau of Commodity Inspection & Quarantine, MOEA for "ISO 9002".

1995

In August, Chung Shing's address was changed to 59, Kuan-Fu Rd., Sec. 2, San Chung county, Taipei, Taiwan.

1996

In August, we had injected an amount of 1.8 billion New Taiwan Dollars into our Yang Mei Chemical Fiber factory to expand a PET polymerization plant.

1997

In April, our newly designed name brand "Jr." underwear series are targeting our younger generation.
In June, ViNa Chung Shing Textile Co., Ltd. with 30,000 spindles in Vietnam started to operate.
We have opened eight shops of Three Gun Hypermarkets in Taipei since 1991, in order to supply various high quality products with decent prices through our own convenient access.

1998

In June, Garments for Domestic Market Div. has passed the ISO 9002 quality assurance certificate from British BSI.
In December, our affiliate Printed Wire Corp. has listed on "Taiwan Over the Counter Market."
The Chemical Fiber Division has successfully developed our new fiber which can absorb and transport moisture. Now it is in mass production with the trade mark "Coolplus®".

2000

In August, company sponsored the new products-Cool-plus® exhibition to show our achievement in R&D. The multi-function of our new fiber Coolplus® demonstrates its superiority. In deed, it is the 21st Century technology.
In September, We established a new division to promote the sales of a series of products originated from Coolplus® fibers to increase its value addition. The new division is named as "Fabric Division".

2006-Present

2006

We established our subsidiary, “Chung Shing Textile Marketing Co., Ltd.”, to oversee research and development as well as sales operations, while focusing our core business on the production of polyester chips and polyester fibers.

2007

In November, Tai Chun Bao assumed the Chairman of the board position.

2008

In September, Our Administration Group was officially moved from Hua Cheng Road of Sinjhuang City to Zhongxiao East Road of Taipei City.

2015

In December, Our Administration Group was officially moved from Zhongxiao East Road of Taipei City to Keelung Road of Taipei City.

2020

In August, company merged with Topmost Dyeing & Finishing Co., Ltd., with the company as the surviving company. The merger was completed on 8/3 (the reference date of merger).

Our Company was established under the name “Chung Shing Textile Marketing Co., Ltd.”

2007

Ranked among the Top 500 Exporters and Importers by the Bureau of Foreign Trade annually since 2007.
Obtained Oeko-Tex certification.

2008

Increased capital to NTD 585 million.
Obtained BSI ISO 9001 certification.

2011

Increased capital to NTD 935 million.
Obtained TÜV NORD ISO 9001 certification.
Obtained GRS certification.

2012

Increased capital to NTD 1.035 billion.

2014

Initiated the establishment of an R&D center.
